So, after a year of not writing one single song, I have three separate ideas brewing.
Idea one:
A worship song that's almost finished about my disillusionment with church. A sample line: "My disillusionment, it's what illuminates you." Maybe lame, maybe. I don't know, it feels right to me.
Idea two:
If you live in Hucrest in Roseburg, you know about the little old man who smokes cigarettes and waves at every single car that passes. I mean every one. Smiling all the while. He's a really happy looking, inviting guy. Anyway the song is going to be about how he probably knows more pain and hurt and love and loss and anger and depression and hopelessness and faith than I will ever know, yet he finds joy in brightening my day. He can sit and wave at us and be happy. In a world of hate, murder, violence, war, and bigotry, this guy hits home how I want to be.
Idea three:
I just received an email from a scholarship notification website, the scholarship is given for the person who makes a video which is to be their interpretation of the phrase "Even one person can make a difference" Now I haven't completely thought this out, but I think I'm going to make a video... and a song for the soundtrack... I mean, sure, one person can make a difference but am I alone in thinking that while one can make a difference more could start a revolution. I talk and talk about revolution, but sooner or later I need to get off my @$$ and do something.
Anyway, any thoughts?
PS: The camp Staff Video is complete. Leave me a comment and your address if you want a copy. And you can donate to the DVD cost ...couple bucks if possible, but if you want a copy and don't have money... just leave your name and address and we'll get ya a copy! Much Love
