Religions forbid a lot of things. I'm pretty sure none of them are the basis of our salvation. Especially a tattoo that was designed to be a constant reminder of a Creator that is beyond our imagination, beyond our comprehension, and so beyond words that the only way to say His name was to breathe because no words could describe Him. Besides, who's the Jewish one you're referring to?

by the way, I am not Jewish...

I'm a follower of Christ. And I have found no biblical passage forbidding it. It is a gray area, and thus, I feel I am not in sin by having it. Anymore questions? ;)
