Odd...

Hey, Iran, no nukes, we wan't world peace! By the way, as I'm asking you to stop, I'm going to bomb Pakistan and kill 17 (most likely) innocent people. Oops, we got bad intelligence again.. our bad... but, yeah, no nukes.

According to reports, it was 18 civillians total, with 11 militants killed. It was clearly a very deadly mistake, albeit one that ended up striking quite a few of the intended targets. All things considered, it seems to me that someone in the CIA should face criminal prosecution for committing such a profound error.

Nevertheless, I don't think this speaks at all to the Iranian nuclear program, the completion of which could possibly destabilize the entire Mideast. Regardless of how many wayward American missiles hit their intended targets, (or in this case, didn't), I don't think it is in anyone's interest- including Pakistani villagers- for Iran to achieve nuclear capability.

I agree with Curtis. And there is a HUGE difference between the missile that the US used and a nuclear bomb!

Some new relevant news here:

Jan. 18, 2006 — ABC News has learned that al Qaeda's master bomb maker and chemical weapons expert was one of the men killed in last week's U.S. missile attack in eastern Pakistan.

Midhat Mursi, 52, also known as Abu Khabab al-Masri, was identified by Pakistani authorities as one of three known al Qaeda leaders present at an apparent terror summit conference in the village of Damadola.
