My friend Cody and I sat at Chili's today and talked for about 3 hours. We talked about our old home (Roseburg), our old friends (Roseburg Dwellers), and the new rollercoaster of life we have discovered. Both of us are 21, broke, and trying to make it as musicians. It became apparent to both of us that this way of life (that of struggling to get by, not sure of our next move) was somewhat satisfying! Not like we want to be here forever, but it is so much better when good things happen! If both of us were handed everything we wanted on silver platters, we wouldn't enjoy the things that really matter in life. Things like friends, love, sitting in a bar drinking water talking about how much our families love us despite our lack of visible direction. Not to say I haven't been handed things, I sure have. My parents love to give me whatever I want, but them not being here and me not having funds or the desire to call them and ask for money (anymore) has changed my outlook.
One more observastion we made was that in God's creation, no animals or plants that survive in the wild were given an easy start. Baby chicks, for instance, must break out of their shells without help. They have to be strong. If you help, they die. Baby Kangaroos are born and then must crawl, without help, into their mothers pouch. That to say, if any of us want to get anywhere in life, we have to do it ourselves. We can't sit and ask for it to be handed to us! So get off your butt and go for it, eh? I know, it is a bunch of useless babbling. Take your salt. I won't tell.

The new header is great.
I'm having a 'by-blog-invite-only' party/open house all weekend! :) I'm not working Friday, Saturday or Sunday, so if you want to stop by and see the place, just call, and I'll be there!
And then Sunday I'm inviting everyone over for lunch after church. Good food, and plenty of space to lay around and relax. Let me know if you're in! Hope all's going well...
