This...from a christian site..

So did God send Hurricane Katrina to punish the sinners along the Gulf Coast? Maybe. Or maybe he did it to call home some of His own, so he could tell them, “Well done, my good and faithful servant.” Whatever the reason, Hurricane Katrina will remain a poignant chapter in American history. Maybe one day we will have the opportunity to ask God and Jesus why Katrina happened.

REALLY? I don't want to be associated with these people.. These self-righteous, right wing extremist, Pat Robertson loving, Nationalistians. Christianity isn't an american sport. You don't just side with Christ cause he won the pennant. You side with Christ because His teachings are amazing, yet amazingly simple. Love. So, did the Gulf Coast sinners deserve it? Who the hell cares. The point is that Jesus loved every last person who died. When Katrina hit, I'm guessing Jesus was in tears. God doesn't desire to see people die. He wants to redeem them. It has been his goal. Redemption is a process. Not a one time catastrophe that God inflicts to clear out sinners....... I am disassociating. Sure, I work at a Conservative Baptist Church, but It doesn't mean I support right wingers...

you're so cute when you get so flustered and angry.

I can see where you are coming from, but be careful with the name-calling. It's not the "right wingers" you should be trying to hard to disassociate yourself with, it's like you and I talked about today - it's the people who most commonly (and unfortunately) represent these "groups" with the microphones, cameras, and bullhorns in their hand.
Don't let ol' Pat misconstrue some of whom are essentually fellows Brothers just because he is an extreme on "right wing" nut. My mom, who still thinks you should wear a dress to church, would be apalled at the statement of "God's 'wrath'" being poured out.
Suffice - I half agree with you. Love you bro!

Anyone who thinks that natural disasters can be simplified merely to a punishment on people with whom said condemners disagree is a flaming, self-righteous idiot.

And that's all I have to say about that.

Jeff - read Luke 13:1-5. It will help you communicate what you are feeling with the words of Christ. I promise that you will be stoked when you read it.

I'm a friend of Ashdown's and saw your link on his blog. The wedding was sweet - your singing was great, especially with tears.
